Spoke tying and soldering using black wire?

Use copper wire (I have an old vehicle wiring harness that I used to strip strands out of), wrap 'em and solder 'em (it's all on my wheelbuilding site) and paint black with model paint. I've no idea how you would solder black wire. I used to track train with a few guys who had multi color paints on their tie and solder jobs. They looked great when the bikes were not moving.

The black wrap you show doesn't look to be soldered to me.

Would copper wire against the spokes have a galvanic corrosive effect?

If so, would it be enough to matter, and would painting the copper wire prevent that?
