Ultegra WH-6700 or VUELTA CORSA SL

ULTEGRA WH-6700 or VUELTA CORSA SUPER LITE wheels...going on an older Trek 700. I seem to like both of these wheelsets from what I have read. Prices are pretty close too if you shop around. Whats the hives opinion?

Ultegra hubs are indestructible, I'd always go with Shimano given those options.

Shimano wheels are great. Hubs can be easily maintained. The aluminum/carbon rim is excellent too.

The Ultegras are tubeless ready in case you want to go that route.

I have a set of the Vuelta Corsa Superlites 2010, when they were still using the Italian design. The new design looks cheap to me. I got mine for $200, good wheels very light, spin nice and the bladed spokes are nice. However I dont like the sound of the freehub, sounds a bit cheap. Shimano hubs are awesome and probably spin a bit better, not to mention Shimano hubs are the best sounding hubs out there, period!

My Superlites wieghed in just shy of 1500g, the Ultegras I am guessing probably around 1600+/-g. Go with the Ultegras unless you can get the Vueltas super cheap.
