    Talking Veltec Volare

    Hi!

I'm looking for a new pair of wheels in order to replace my old Shimano WH-500. They rode only a little bit more than 10.000 kms/4 years (I basically practise MTB) but the rear one wheel is getting some play and ease to turn untrued.

Considering I am not a competitive cyclist that weights 160lb/6 feet tall, I would like to know about this wheels:

    http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k63...r-shimano.html

    - Veltc Volare Rims
    - Veltec hubs
    - DT 2.0/1.8
    - Alu nipples

Any opinion, review, advice? Other wheels? No more than 200/300$ shipping costs included. Internet, no LBS.

    Thanks in advance.

There are lots of threads on rennrad-news.de
To sum up, the wheels hold up fine IF they are set up properly (correct spoke tension). The speced weight on bike-discount.de seems to be low by 100g because they use heavier spokes. I myself have no experience with those wheels. But I consider getting those rims. Anyone have an idea about the weight? Some sources say they are 380g, some say 420g. I wonder if I can save any weight over the Mavic Open Pro?
