    Year in Review/Year Ahead

    2011
Approximately 900 miles (sounds inconsequential on this site, but it's 9 times my total for the last 5 years combined).
Learned how to change a tire.
Involuntary upgrade to carbon (someone stole my old bike).

    2012
Nice ride for a New Year's Day in Massachusetts (second picture)!
    PMC.
    2000 miles?
    No upgrades this year!!!

It's a great feeling getting back on the bike a bit more, eh?
I got back on a bike about 4 years ago after not doing anything for almost 10 years!!! eek !
Since then i have been completely consumed by cycling.
Was riding my mtb alot and recently got my first roadie.
Built it up as a Christmas present to myself, and have been doing about 100 miles a week since.
2011 had me doing almost 1100 miles offroad with over 130,000 feet of vertical.
2012 goal is to hit between 2-3000 miles and 200,000 feet.
Half of which will be on the mtb.
    Cheers!

I'm and old Geez and started riding in August last year. Mileage for 2011 was 1,200 miles and expecting 3,000 + for 2012. I began riding only as a means of exercising, but find myself spending more time riding than I had planned. That's been great, but some of my other hobbies have suffered.

Good job! That's a hell of a jump in yearly mileage. Congrats too, on your new bike. Hopefully insurance paid for most or all of it.
Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them you'll be a mile away & you'll have their shoes.

Feels funny quoting myself here, but I have changed my mileage goal a bit for this year.
I've done about 700 miles since jan 1st.
I think I'll have to up my goal for the year to something more like 4-5000 miles.
Doing my first Metric this saturday, and training for my first century in april.
