    2013 Trek Domane 4.0 or2014 Giant Defy 1

So in my area I have the option of a 2013 Trek Domane 4.0 c with Tiagra components for $1200 and a 2014 Giant Defy 1 with 105 components for $1250. They both feel good to me (considering how new I am to road bikes). Any input?

If you ride on rough roads the carbon frame and isospeed decoupler of the the Domane will provide you with a much more comfortable ride assuming equal tire pressure. The geometry of the Domane is a little more relaxed with taller head tube, longer wheel base and lower seat and head tube angles...again, making it more set up for endurance and comfort.

I have a Domane and another bike with racier geometry, like the Defy. The Domane is my preferred ride.

While Tiagra is certainly serviceable, if you felt you had to upgrade to 105, it can be done for ~$375.
