Cable Rattle and Full length internal cables
    Howdy all.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get ride of cable rattle on a frame with full length cables for disc etc?

    I have an
Allez Sprint. I am running the right cables into the left side of the frame etc. I recently put some small sections of Window insulation on there hoping that would help. What I am thinking though is the angle the of the cables coming into he frame may have an impact on this. Anyway, any ideas will greatly be appreciated.

Not sure how the cables would hit anything if you're crossing them. There is pretty much always tension on the rear der cable, does the noise change if you shift to the big ring? Disc brake hose goes through the frame? Trek uses foam tubing over the brake housing/hose where noise can be an issue.

On the Allez Sprint Disc all of the cable housing runs full length. that might be my one minor complaint about this otherwise really cool bike.

Ah, got it. Trek does a little thing that allows you to zip-tie the housings to the bottom of the downtube so they don't rattle.

My Felt Cross bike had a cable rattle, but it was coming from inside the downtube. The "fix" was to wrap the cables in some zip ties, and leave a tail when cutting, to float the cables inside the tube. It did work. Not sure how to deal with cables that are externally mounted.

Roll some tight o-rings on the housing, space them out as needed. I did that on my mountain bike because I didn't like listening to the housing slap the frame. That will require pulling the cables then reinstalling them.

Deseljs. The cables and full length housing are internal, and your zip tie idea is a good one.

Cooper 1960. I did the foam window insulation sleeve and it really isn't working.

I am not sure how the service tech did the zip tie wrap on my Felt. It was a known issue, and this guy was the best bike technician I have found to date. Unfortunately, he left the bike shop and went back to working on motorcycles. Major bummer.

This guy was the only person who sorted out my bottom bracket problem on my Cannondale CAAD 10.
