Help me pick a fork for my bike

    Greetings,

I am building a bike for my self (and my son, we will both ride this bike). The bike will be about 80% road but with the ability to do light to moderate off road riding.

The bike is a himod carbon fiber framed Motobecane Cafe Century. It has a hodge podge gruppo that will ultimately be upgraded, assuming I like the bike. My son is turning 13 and the low end gruppo is fine for right now. In a few years he will want a car and then I will upgrade the componentry.

    My budget is around $300.

The bike has disk brakes, and here are the stats of the fork/headset I will be replacing: 700C CARBON Disc Brake FORK,Steerer ALLOY( 1-1/8") W/O THREAD ,CROWN:50mm, BLADE: CARBON W/INT'L DISC MOUNT, DROPOUT: W/EYELET ,OFFSET:45mm ( 12K WEAVE), FOR IS2/ FSA ORBIT IS IS2 1-1/8" INTEGRATED OS 36/45 ACB FOR 45mm OD HEADTUBE,ALLOY H/P W/H2271A 6.7mm TOP COVER

    Thanks!

What's wrong with the existing fork? Why do you need/want an upgrade?
I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?

There is no existing fork. I am getting the rest of the bike for cheap ($550). All it lacks is a fork and headset.

I've had to get an aftermarket fork before for a road bike and ended up with a Ritchey WCS, have been very satisfied.

Would these work? I think we agree on this:

I am not sure if the forks I selected are disc compatible. I was a hard core biker....many, many years ago. I am still learning when it comes to the new materials and technologies.

Here is something else I found, but it is only good for 28 mm tires, I am running 32's: https://www.probikekit.com/cycling-f.../11240672.html

The one thing missing on all those forks are disc brake caliper mounting posts. They're pretty obvious.
