How can i shed weight from my Bianchi Eros 2002

Just got my first road bike Bianchi Eros 2002 from a gift from my dad. After climbing hills with it i relized that this bike was much heavier then my dad's old trek. Is it the frame or the components that makes this model so heavy. Will upgrading the frame will be a great gain? Any suggestions that are cheap that will make it an easier ride?

I think you should start by giving us a list of components. Without knowing what you have, it's tough to know where to stop.

The other option, unless you are as fit as can be, is too lose some excess body weight. It's cheaper, and healthier

Not worth upgrading. Just ride it and have fun. Save your money for a new bike. It's been bulletproof for me. No problems with the Mirage as far as durability. Not as smooth as Chorus and Record though. Never ridden Centaur.

'05 Eros. Yes it's heavy, but it's so darn comfy!!! About 23#s. I've picked up fully suspended mountain bikes that were lighter.
