My Lynskey R330 Build/Lovesong Dedication Thread

Just finished putting together my Lynskey R330 tonight. It's love at first ride. I got the frame from a fellow RBR member RamJm_2000, (whose great communication, honesty, integrity and courtesy set a new standard for me when it comes to high-priced internet toy purchases) as he is upgrading to a new Helix.

Anyway here's a pic or two and the build list:

    Lynskey R330 54cm
    Alpha-Q GS-40 Fork
    Soul S3.0SL w/ Conti GP Force/Attack
    105 Brakeset
    SRAM Force Shifters
SRAM Force FD (shimano adapter clamp )
    SRAM Rival Mid-cage RD
    SRAM Force 50/34 172.5 Crankset
    Speedplay X5 Chromoly Pedals
    SRAM 11-32 cassette
    SRAM PG1071 chain
    Pro Vibe Carbon Bar
    Pro Vibe 7s stem
    Pro PLT Carbon Seatpost
    Forte Pro SL saddle
    Chris King Headset
    Chris King BB

The bike weighs in at ~16.33 lbs on my cheapo HF scale. I went a little budget conscious on some of the parts, and also plan on ditching the 11-32 for a 11-28 or 11-26 once i'm strong enough to tackle my regular climbs in a smaller sprocket. But low 16's is plenty light for me--i'm certainly not going to break the bank trying to lose 1 lb. For those who are interested, I did most of my shopping at PBK and Art's and the LBS for odds and ends like the pedals, headset, bb, seatpost, bars, stem, etc. Art's save15 code really helped me out.

As for a ride report, quick spin around the block was pretty much orgasmic. Whether it's the "I just spent lotsa $$$" placebo effect, or an actual difference (vs. my previous bike, 09 Giant Defy), or a little bit of both, the angels sing when i'm riding this bike. I can feel the fabled smoothness of the Ti over the average pavement (not smooth/not rough) on my street. Handling seems stable yet responsive so far. Bike just feels faster, smoother. Even the gearshifts are quiet and having a sewing machine like precision (this same SRAM Group was on my Giant previously and was a loud mess, relatively speaking). Hell, if anything, proof that this bike is magical is that it literally took me 3 minutes to tune my front derailleur. That task alone usually takes me the whole night and lots of cursing and beer to get nailed down.

Anyway, i'd love to drive up to GMR right now and go for a ride, but it's probably not a good idea at 9pm. I'm also having my second child in the next 3 days (woot!) so i don't envision having a lot of time to ride in the coming weeks, but maybe i can sneak out for a couple of hours

    Nice ride.

Naked Ti bikes never look good in front of "the white door".

Juan has it just about right, "once you Ti...
they way they ride, it's hard to get on another.
It all comes down to rule 5!!
