    Specialized Roubaix VS Secteur Elite

Simply put. I'm looking to get either one of these bikes. I'm not sure whether the jump to carbon is worth spending an extra $400 for a bike with the same Geo and group set. Though I have ridden both and I find the roubaix to be more comfortable.

My LBS has the Secteur Elite at $1200 and the Roubaix at $1600.

Please vote in the above poll and let me know what you think!

$1600 is quite cheap for a Roubaix. What model/year is it? I'd get the Roubaix.

Even if it's a 2011 Roubaix with 9 speed Tiagra, I'd still go with it.

I am not crazy about Specialized bikes, seems like everyone and their grandmother has one. Having said that I have had a chance to ride the Roubiax a few times and its a very nice and comfortable bike.

Go Roubiax and dont think twice.

I just called Specialized they told me to look at the archives. It looks like this color is for sure the 2012 model with the 10 speed tiagra.

The Tiagra is the bottom end Roubaix, but still a nice bike and $1600 is a very good price.

    MSRP is $2000

    Not a bad deal for a 2012....

Thank you guys. I went with the Roubaix. They had to order it in, none in stock in a 52. I don't know if I should go with regular pedals or the half clip. I'm not ready for the shoes that clip in yet.

At $1600 tax included I think this bike was a great deal. At the end of the day I'm going home with something that I really like to ride. Even though I'm not crazy about the all black color, I would have preferred something that stands out a little bit more.

That is the most important thing about any bike. Enjoy it!

I dunno. "All black" can stand out in its own way.

I suppose thats true but I'm definitely not riding anything as advanced as that. In any case, maybe living in NYC, I'd rather have a bike that looks incognito rather than one that screams "look at me" by having bright colors all over it.

I like bright "look at me" colors. I want motorists to see me.

Congrats on the bike. You got a really good deal on it. I ride a 2011 Roubaix Comp. I'm very happy with the bike. Hope you are with yours as well..

I just sold a Roubaix. Steerer tube was too long for what I wanted to do with it.

Otherwise it was a magic carpet ride. Nothing that stiff should ride that nicely.

Where did you get that price on a Roubaix? I'm in the market and it's one of the bikes I'm considering.

Right now is a good time to buy bikes because shops are clearing out 2012 inventory to make room.
