    Initial manufacturing defect

I'm curious if anyone from BMC still visits here. In October of 2011 is when I purchased my SL01 Road Racer. It's been a great bike that I'm happy with. However, I've come across a defect that's been there all along; the bottom bracket threads don't align properly. This causes the bearings to wear fast, and make removing and installation very difficult. I can only get a little over 2500 miles before needing to replace the bottom bracket.
What do you think the chances are BMC will stand behind the warranty, even though it's after the 3 years?
I have a single track mind

Probably slim. Only way to know is ask.

Did you register your bike? FYI:

BMC grants the following warranty periods from the date of delivery:
    •Frame: 3 years

Buyers of a bicycle from Model Year 2011 onwards have the option of registering their frames within 30 days after purchase with a BMC retailer on the BMC website, which will extend the warranty period for the frame from 3 to 5 years. The warranty period is not extended after repair/exchange of the frame.
