Record vs. Chorus for Front Derailleur FD

OK, Let's say hypothetically that one can purchase a chorus or record FD for the same cost. Normally, I would just get the chorus because I would think that the aluminum outer cage would be more durable and chorus is usually cheaper.

Being the same price, I'm starting to be tempted by the carbon flair of the record version.

Is there a durability difference between them? Is there a discernable difference in shift quality?

Thanks for any thoughts you want to offer!

    info...

You're either getting a bargain on the Record FD or screwed on the Chorus. The Chorus will be more durable.

Looks like Ribble has a pricing error.

I have over 35,000 miles and over 5 years on a carbon cage Record 10 speed front cage. They are actually pretty durable but the only advantage over the Chorus is weight. Don't expect any performance difference.
For my next trick I will now set myself on fire!

The listed weight is almost the same (1 gram savings). Good to hear it has been durable for you.

Oh C40 is good - giving away the source and all!

EJR found the other one. It doesn't look like a mistake; they are just getting rid of last year's inventory. I just purchased a 2010 Chorus 11 crankset from CC. Not a bad deal at all.
