Link goes to a MTBR thread about a bogus Ebay Seller with a very poorly photoshopped fake store photo.

    Thanks for the link.

I've decided to jerk their chain a bit. I just sent the following e-mail to them:

"Do you have CANNONDALE SIX13 R5000 DURA-ACE roadbike? It is really my choice but store nearby me has not one. i need my CANNONDALE SIX13 R5000 DURA-ACE in size 65 cm and i am wiling to pay full price for this (ITEM). pls let me know if you can help me. "

Let's see if that gets a response....

    Sent them a response:

I decided to send them a slightly modified version of the "Mark Ortega" scam posted here a couple of weeks ago:

    Hi serdealkon ,

Thanks for your recent mail, though, I'm really interested in buying the BIKE from you . I hope $2550 is a good reasonable offer? So pls get back to me immediately if we have business to conduct. Anyway....just to let you know........ I have a shipper that would take care of the shipping of the mortiser after payment must have been made and your consent is gained.

I am willing to pay you $2550 you are willing to sell to me and to ship it to my home in Nigeria.

At present,I am not in the U.S.A,I travelled on a business trip. But,as regards payments, this is what I will do.I will as my client in the U.S.A that is owing me to issue you a U.S.A cashier's check, this check $7900 that will be sent to you will cover the money for the purchase, pick up by and also insurance and some other items that need to be shipped.

So what you will do is to receive the check, take it to any check cashing store or take it to your bank and cash it immediately, deduct your money and do me the favour of sending the remaining funds to my shipper through WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER so that the pick up can be done immdiately at your location.I hope I can count on you for the balance.

Pls get back to me with the name and address to which the check will be made out to if my terms is accepted.Pls include your phone number too,

    Thank you kindly
I'm just dying to see his response!!!

Most of sucessful attempts of this retaliation seem to be premised on making them Fedex you their fake checks (at 10-20 bucks a pop). Thus you increase their overhead for their scam and make it less attractive. Of course, I suggest not using your name and address if you were to do such a thing, which I of course would never recommend.

    Watch out for Secom Cycle

They are back at it as Secom Cycle in the UK. The user id has 100% positive feedback. Looks like it belonged to a coin dealer but it hasn't been used since last year.

    Angry Secom Cycle = FRAUD

Today these guys are using secom-cycle1228, yesterday they were using secom-cycle1227.

Seems that they know how to ride on top of someone elses ebay ID.

I played with them for about 10 e-mails. Called their 888 number, asked them if their Mom's knew they were doing this.

Also called the owner of the domain name and left a message.

I contacted ebay again today to let them know all the contact info.

    Angry secom-cycles uk

Made a similar experience with secam-cycles in London, UK. They offered a cannondale ironman 5000, model 2004 for 2600 $ and insisted on payment thru Western Union. The european distributor in the Netherlands doesn't know them. I finally asked to pickup the bike in London and to pay cash but then the answer was that the warehouse is located in Liverpool.
I am sure after my mail conversation that this is a fraund.

They're listing a 1-888 number (a US number) for a business that supposed to be in London.
You're not as smart as you think I am. Now just think about that for a minute.
