Sunday afternoon beer ride after Sat. eve beer drink....lots of pictures.

Apparently this is the 2nd beer ride of the weekend on here....awesome.

After an evening of drinking at Monk's cafe in downtown Philly, my brother (Nick), my cousin (Mario), and I decided it would be a good idea to ride from Philly to Downingtown the next day to visit the Victory Brewing Co restaurant/bar.

Sunday morning came around. Nick and Mario were hung over. I...well I wasn't hung over, but my stomach was having nothing to do with food. Perfect. Can't back out on a good idea now.

Pics by nick and a few by me...

    Cast:

Me....what else to ride SE PA rolling hills on with a sick stomach. Fixed gear. Shown here with sitting track stand and goofy face.

    Mario....looking ok so far.

Nick....nice bags under the eyes...hair out the helmet....whatever.

We're rolling now...took the Schuylkill River Trail out to Valley Forge park and then south.

    Nick's new shiny pink things.

    rolling.

    my lovely shoe.

    tis art.

Crossing the river into the park.

Flash forward a ways. We were to meet a friend of mine at the brewery and we were late....no pics for a while.

    Victory.

Nick and Mario order more beers.

I don't....stomach not having ANYTHING to do with anything still.

We leave there with limited sunlight....and relatively poor health....so I try to find a way to Malvern, PA to grab a train and cheat about 15 miles off the return trip...

    10 miles later...

Waiting for the train in Malvern.

Trusty steeds waiting for the train....

I've felt better...but still had a good time...

After getting off the train we had 4ish mile ride home through the darkness of Narbeth back to the Philly border. Blinkys and low wattage headlights save the day. A bit over 50 miles for the total.

We will do it again for sure....soon. Without the illness and without the train. Good times...

    -Chuck

Thumbs up Man, you guys look a little under the weather.

Still, I suggest you do it again soon so we can see more great photos (I like the shoe shot, the portraits and the train station shots).

    Nice post.

How about some urban Philly shots. Lots of good stuff to shoot in Philly and surrounding areas.

There will be more. Living on the NW side of Philly I don't normally ride towards downtown.

I might have to go that way next time and do some sort of loop inside the city.

    good stuff

Gives me ideas for trips with brother returning to town soon. Ditto on the "steeds waiting for train" shot, good stuff looking forward to more.
    Thanks,

    Another ride to beer post!

I have to get in on this latest trend. Being hung over is no excuse for khaki shorts over your riding gear, though...

easy for me to say. I don't have to follow the guy.

the khaki shorts help hide the fact that your beer gut hangs out over your bike shorts...

Carry on, then. Can't be too careful when it comes to man butt in spandex.

I can't help chuckling at the look on your face in that "rolling" shot... I give you lots of credit for simply being upright at that point.
