BB30 cranck on Specialized Tarmac Sl3/SL4

    Hello,

I want to build up a Tarmac S-works frame. I need also a new groupset. I think I will buy Sram Force or Sram Red or a mix of both. I don't now if I need the BB30 version of the Sram crank. Can I use the BB30 crank in the tarmac frame or do I need adapters? Please some advice.
    Thanks.

Depends on the frame you get. The SL3 S-works comes in 2 BB types threaded and OSBB.

    From their website:

    S-Works Tarmac SL3 OSBB Frameset
Spec your own ultimate road racing bike right down to the quick releases by starting with the S-Works Tarmac SL3 frameset. Oversized bottom bracket readily accepts BB30 cranks.

Ok thanks...I assume that the SL4 frameset uses OSBB?

    Is this your frame?

I wouldn't base component compatibility buying decisions on forum advice. Look at the frame's BB, ask the seller, get the serial number and call Specialized, etc. No one here is going to give you your money back if they get it wrong. No one here can guarantee they are speaking about the exact frameset you have or are getting.

SL4 frame is only available w/ the OSBB I believe, but SL3 is available in both.

ok thanks.. I believe based on the information that a Sram REd or Force BB30 is possible on the OSBB. Thanks Kontact for the link!

If you have the OSBB frame, then yes, you can get either Red or Force BB30 cranks.
