    Bolt spacing on Trek 420

I have an '89 Trek 420. Accoriding to an old brochure I found on the internet it shows that it came with the Sport LX Group. I want to put a larger front chainring on it. My LBS thinks that it is the 110 bolt spacing like a mountain bike. Does anyone know what the bolt spacing is for the cranks that came in the Sport LX group?

If the crank has a 110mm 5-bolt pattern, the bolts will measure about 64.7mm (2.54 inches) center to center (or inside edge to outside edge). If the bolt pattern is a 130mm, 5 bolt, the spacing will be 76.4mm or 3.0 inches.
