    Calfee Di2 internal battery retrofit

What are the opinions about this system. While very slick I am concerned about voiding my warranty with frame holes. There is also the slight concern about removing the seat post to recharge the battery although they claim a battery life in excess of 2500 miles.

Shimano will be releasing their own seatpost mount battery within the next couple of months, which looks like a pretty slick system. Battery comes with various adapters for different shapes and sizes of seat post, and it all wires directly in to the e tube harness. I believe they also have a remote charging port figured out. You might look in to that

why would you possibly be worried about pulling your seat post out 3-5 times a year?

The Calfee kit for Ui2 is $575.
That price is for the battery and the chipset to allow charging.

The internal battery from Shimano is already out. It is charged exclusively through the front junction; the battery itself has no charging port. No need to pull out the seatpost.

Wow that is expensive, I made my own for about $150.
I also figured out a way to charge the battery without removing the seatpost.
