    Unhappy Campy front derailleur.

I am bidding on a Campy Chorus fron derailleur on eBay. The derailleur is a clamp-on but my bike (Specialized M4) only accepts a braze-on. There is only 1day 10hours to go on the bidding. Here is my question: is it possible to convert the clamp-on to a braze-on just by taking the clamp off much like it is with Shimano front derailleurs?

Really need the help, really want this derailleur.

    Thank you for looking in.

Yes....but make sure you can get the Campy braze-on for the right price. It might otherwise be worth the expense.

    don't buy it...

Get the proper FD. It would cost way to much to buy the conversion parts. It's not like some derailleurs which are just a braze-on with an included clamp-on adapter.

You cannot take the band of a shimano band type FD. That only works if the derailer is a braze on attached to an ADAPTER CLAMP.

You do not want that clamp on derailleur, you cannot reasonably convert it to braze-on, it would be cheaper to buy a braze-on at retail price
