Ok great, thanks. I think that I usually pay attention to that but I'll still check. One thing related to this is that when I put the hub in the dropouts there seems to be a lot of play and it requires me manually aligning the rim evenly between the brake calipers while tightening the skewer not to get brake rub. I can't just place the hub between the dropouts and tighten the skewer to the ~90 degree (by feel point) and clamp to have the rim be dead center between the brake caliper.

I checked the skewer springs tonight...both sides had the smaller diameter on the inside.
