Di2 RX-805 wonít shift to bigger gears with clutch on

My rear derailleur will only shift in the smallest 5 gears of the cassette with the clutch on. Shifts through all of them with the clutch off. What would cause that? Is the clutch putting too much tension on the derailleur so it wonít shift? Is there a clutch adjustment that would loosen it up just a little so it will shift through all the gears with the clutch on?

There is a clutch adjustment in the form of a little set bolt that pinches the bit of metal that wraps around the clutch mechanism. Take it apart, pull it out and clean it and lube it very lightly with something like Chris King ring drive lube, and then re-adjust.

BTW, if you have a front derailleur, you don't need a clutch (on). Its primary function is to prevent the chain coming off a single chainring due to the absence of a front derailleur chain guide. The reduction of slap on the chain-stay is a side-effect, but not its primary purpose.

    I'm grateful my Di2 setup is pre-clutch.

Thanks! It looks a bit tricky, I have an important race this weekend and little opportunity to ride / verify functionality this week, so Iím going to wait until after the race to do this. But the step by step instructions look pretty thorough.

Yeah, just turn it off for the race. Good luck.

It is far less complicated than that description indicates. There is a good chance it will work fine after you clean it (I just washed it out with WD-40, let it dry, and lightly re-lubed it.)
