    Extra Long Handlebar Tape?

Anyone? Finally got my CX bike all 'gravelled', but the profile handlebar tape I used was too short. Any suggestions? Preferably synthetic cork type, in QBP would be ideal...

How wide are your bars?!? If you're ordering from Q try the Zipp CX tape. I've used it a ton and it's great...added bonus: won't get stuck to the bar after a few months.

Bars are 44's. The Profile was way short!

Besides price is there anything better than Lizard Skins? I've had plenty extra left over on every bar I've wrapped. Choose your thickness and color. I use medium thick on my road bike and the thick stuff on my tandem that sees some gravel use.

My new favorite bar wrap has a gel backing instead of glue. It stretches well and grips like crazy. Have it on a couple road bikes and now on my gravel grinder too. It's extra long (2.4 meters) so you can make lots of overlap wraps to build up a nice cushion if you want to. It stretches enough without snapping, easy to make a nice figure-eight wrap around the shifter clamps.

I just spent about an hour working with the ultra stinky 3M adhesive remover cleaning the residual glue off my Easton EC70AX bars that was left behind after removing my old Deda bar tape. Never again will I use bar tape that has adhesive.

Available from Amazon, eBay, or direct. Many nice colors and reasonably priced too.

The bar wrap material is top notch but the included end plugs and finishing tape are crap. I prefer aluminum end plugs having an internal expanding collet. And 3M electrical tape for finishing.

Having recently bought some on-line I noticed some options list the length. I think it was Excel Sports I used and noticed this.

I don't pay any attention to that because everything I've used is long enough, but I know I've had more 'extra' that I've cut off with Fizik than any other brand I've tried. I don't think they make a cork one but do make a lot of different thicknesses and feels.

I donít like adhesive too. One trick is to take a little talcum powder and rub some on the adhesive. The stickiness will be gone.

Ooooh... thanks for the link. I love LizardSkins DSP tape, but like the OP, I find it too short to wrap my 44cm bars like I want to. That, and it costs so much you'd think it's made of gold.

Nixfrkshun used to make the best tape. They sold the stock and rights to redmonkey sports. This stuff is my favourite. Plenty of length, extra wide, not too sticky, not too slippery.

I will second the Lizard Skins. Plenty long enough for 44 bars

The RedMonkey 40 has more than enough to do 46cm bars with some left over. This is really good stuff, wraps and re-wraps very nicely and lasts a long time.
