front chainrings for Force 22 or Red 22

I am currently running Apex f/r derailleurs with a Force crankset. If I upgraded the derailleurs to Force 22 or Red 22, would I need to change the crankset or front chainrings?
Also, does the chain change? Currently running the red chain.

what's your thinking here? why would you upgrade your derailleurs to 11spd and leave everything else? you'd only need to get a new 11spd chain if you went to an 11spd cassette. which means you'd need the new shifters too. not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

    yes ...
I would have to upgrade the shifters and cassette ...
my question is: would I need to change out the rings on my crankset? or will there not be a compatibility issue? Even worse, would I need to change out the whole crankset?

if you have 10 speed now, your current crank should work fine. i wouldn't even change the chainrings. you need shifters/derailleurs/cassette/chain. and a rear wheel that's 11 speed compatible, and not many current 10 speed wheels are. it's not gonna be cheap.

My current wheel is 11 compatible ... is why the dark side is calling me. Comparing Force 22 shifters, front, rear, cassette, chain to
Red 2011 shifters, front, rear to
    Red 2012 shifters, front, rear.

Unless he gets that hydro caliper Red set up. Well, then he's need calipers too, but I'm willing to let him get these so he can report back on his new found love of one finger braking.
