Need to swap out 68mm/108mm FSA BB

    Hi folks,

I have a 2005 cervelo soloist with an FSA platinum ISIS sealed cartridge BB. It has 8 notch brackets on it. I'm looking at getting a BB with external bearing cups like an ultegra BB or FSA mega EXO as I want to swap over to a 2 piece crankset. My other bike has one and it feels super sturdy for my weight. I'm not too familiar with BBs, what BB would fit my bike? Can the spindle length be more than 108mm? I've attached a photo of my current BB.

    Thanks in advance fellow riders!

I don't think you understand how the new(er) cranks and bottom brackets work. You're saying you want to install a 2 piece crank, right? The axle is attached to the crank...you don't use a bottom bracket w/ an axle. Two. piece. And the external cups are just that...cups w/ bearings. There are no size options for the axle. The only think you have to get right are which threads the cups have. You have a Cervelo, it's 68mm/English threads.

Thank you cxwrench. Yes sorry I'm a bit of a newbie so it's not just new cranks I don't understand 😊 Thanks very much for the help, really appreciate it!
