    New project
I decided my Pelican box was just too big so I started thinking about putting together a smaller box. I have a Nanuk for my DJI drone and I'm impressed w/ their product. I've been wanting to do something w/ Fastcap's Kaizen foam and maybe some carbon fibre. I've had the box for a week or so, the foam came in today. I've also got the carbon but some of the fasteners are on the slow 747 from China so that part will happen when they show up. I've got to figure out a few more things but this is where I'm at as of today:

Top layer...this will eventually the home for some Wera L allens and screwdrivers. My Feedback Sports T-handles will go on the carbon fibre in the lid.

That.... looks nothing like my 8 or so tool boxes. If it hits a box it is OK. ...actually not, I been trying to organize and am getting close, but if it's in the right box it is good for now.

    Good Job!

That's way to organized for me.

I like an old school metal craftsman toolbox with piles of large greasy wrenches in the bottom and scads of sockets and other assorted small thingdeals in the upper trays.

Won't it be a major ordeal to remove tools and then replace them? And if your paws are all greasy like mine typically are when I'm working on my MC, car or bicycles... won't that mess up the foam, etc.?

Final question: Is this the most appropriate subforum to post this? :D

I usually wipe stuff off before I put it away so I'm not worried. This thread will get moved to the new "Tools and tool boxes" section soon. :D

Temporary solution for the T-handles. Well, temporary solution for mounting the carbon sheet to the box. It's magnets and hot glue for now til the fasteners and hardware show up.

Dude, if you ever edit my posts again, Ima wipe my greasy hands on the dumb chinese walmart one-size-fits-all crescent wrench you use for every nut, bolt and, sadly, nail, you encounter.

Well, I assume you need to take large numbers of tools in as few boxes as possible, so I commend your packing skills. I've tried to be as organized, but after a couple of months, it seems that my tools are happier sitting anywhere but inside my box(es).

BTW, where you ever a mechanic on a submarine?
