New Sram Red Lever Pull Ratio different to Sram Red Black for Braking?

    Hello,

does anyone know whether Sram has changed the lever pull ratio for their new Sram Red DTs?

I'm not talking about shifting as this has obviously stayed the same. I'm talkin about the brake cable ratio? Shimanos 6700 and 7900 pull more cable than the older ones.

Has Sram changed their new DTs accordingly or has it stayed the same? The reason I suspect this is a review on the new TRP Spyre Discs where it's said that "newer SRAM or Shimano levers would yield a firmer feel thanks to their increased cable pull".

I would be very thankful for some input.

    Regards,
    KJ.

2012/13 Red has the same brake pull ratio as older Red and older Shimano.

Well. So far it's 1:1 as I got an email from James (the guy in the review I linked) and he said:

"I haven't measured the pull myself but according to several product managers I spoke with, yes, the latest SRAM levers pull roughly the same amount of cable as current Shimano levers."

It would be great if anyone could measure it.

I measured my 7800 and 2012 Red levers. I measured them a couple different ways and each time they both came out to about 5mm for 20mm of lever movement. However making the measurement is kind of tricky.

My understanding is that Sram originally used the same pull ratio as Shimano, and when Shimano changed theirs Sram did not.

Thank you so much for the info. 5mm for 20mm lever pull is even for the old Shimano levers too little. Are you sure? From what I've read it's 10mm lever pull and 5mm cable for the old ones and 10mm / 10mm for the new STIs.

I'm sure. And the ratios I have read are 3:1 and 4:1. But you should measure yourself, or ask Sram.
