Replacing RD9070 derailleur with RD 8050
I am replacing an RD 9070 with a RD 8050 in order to run a larger cassette. The RD 8050 has an extra link where it mounts that the RD 9070 did not have. Do I use this?

See the Shimano's Dealer Manual for RD8050: https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-R8050-01-ENG.pdf

    The TL;DR version is:

    A) You have a conventional RD hganger--yes you use the B-link. Pay special attention to the angle of the b-link when mounted...otherwise your chain will not tension properly.**

    B) You have a Shimano Direct Mount frameset (such a certain BMC bikes, or Paragon Machineworks sliders etc)--then you remove the B-link.
