    Squeeky head

This past weekend I began to hear a continuous noise from, I beleive, from the head tube. The bike is a couple of years old and was recently rode in a heavy rainstorm. I'd like to lube the bearings.

If I loosen everything holding the fork in will the bearings or anything else drop out all over the floor? Or will something else happen that will force me to take my bike to the shop in pieces or is reassembly easy?

The fork is a Bianchi carbon threadless, in case that matters.

    Thanks!

That sort of thing shouldn't happen, but to ease your mind, go to www.parktool.com and go to the repair help section. Click on the headset and fork area and select the proper how-to. That's the right way to do it.
