SRAM Force 11spd. shifter compatibility with Force 10 spd. rear derailleur

Has anyone tried this combination with any success? Of course with 11 spd cassette.

Supposedly the 10 speed and 11 speed derailleurs are the same for SRAM. The difference is in the levers. It was somewhere on Velonews where I saw the article.

Isn't the different hood shape going to bug you?

the shape is a bit different, the feel is completely different, Im not sure if you can install the new gen hood on the old shifters.

Well here we go shifter finally arrived!
Going to call this "The Mongrel"
Using the wheel and Campy Record 11S 12/27 cassette from my Time, as well as a Chorus 11S chain with lessthan 1000kms ( this chain did not shift as nicely as Record 11 on my Campy bike)
Rear derialleur is a new Sram Force 10 spd WiFli
Rear shifter is a new Sram Force 11,front is original Force with a Red FD.
After setting limit screws and installing chain I gingerly turned crank and clicked down once, nothing, added tension till we got a shift ,down to the middle gear,up one,a little slow dropping down the cassette ,backed of 1/2 turn on tension, up 1,down 1,perfect chain drop between gears, all the way down to granny SWEET , all the way up 1 at a time PERFECT,
Onto the big ring,Instant, down the cassette all the way to cross chain granny,NICE!!!
Off big ring to little ring (full granny),instant but a little rub, back off low limit on FD till just touching. Up onto big ring (cross chaining) ,effortless !
I'd have to say this set up shifts like a THOROUGHBRED!!!!
