Dia-Compe 287-V levers with mechan. discs?

Does anyone know if Dia-Compe's drop bar style 287-V levers will pull enough cable to operate Avid Mechanical Discs? I'm building a frankenstein commuter from my SISS.
    Help is much appreciated,
    -David

Yes, cable routing needs to be very clean to keep it all running smooth. it is a common combination.

I'm not a huge fan of the 287-V levers, they just haven't worked for me with V-brakes; however, if you already have mtb disc brakes it's worth making it go.

Otherwise, Avid makes road lever compatible discs
