    Churched up my old sequoia

I figured it was time to give this old thing a fresh look... and since upgrading my cervelo to all dura ace, I thought I might as well throw the components on this guy as well! Enjoy!

    This is a before pic:

And here is an after shot:

Nice job. Did you do it yourself, or use a frame shop to do the painting?

Hey, I never herd the word "church" used as a verb like this. Where do you hail from?

Film that one and make it a YouTube vid for anyone who cares to check out...

And Iím from all over (military vet). And I couldnít tell you where I picked that term up... but Iíve been sayin it for years. :-)

Now I'll be sayin it for years to come.

A couple years ago, I churched up my well-used 1986 Shogun Prairie Breaker Pro mountain bike -- got rid of rust, paint gone bad, etc.

I was going to send it out to have it powder coated, but decided to do a rattle can job, since it is just my son's and my around-town beater.

After carefully cleaning, smoothing and priming the frame, I put on a few thinly sprayed on topcoats. It came out better than I expected. Surface prep makes all the difference in the world.

    Itís a good saying!

Surface prep is VITAL! On top of that, using a good clear coat really provides longevity and durability to the paint...

If you ever do another home paint job, check out spray max 2k, itís a 2 component clear in one can... and creates a high gloss, HARD finish that keeps my little jobs looking good for years to come!

    Straight from Urban Dictionary:

Churched Up refers to anything or anyone that presents themselves as being better than they really are. It can also refer to over exposure either by the media or by advertisement. Loosely derived from getting dressed up to go to church, or believing that going to church makes you appear as being a better person than you really are.

"Britney Spears is so churched up, we all know she's really just a busted red-neck!"

"Crystal Pepsi has to be one of the most churched up products in history"

"Everytime I turn the TV on I hear about "Brangelina", they are so F'in Churched!"

I wish you could see the pearly purple clear coat too!

Nice of you to leave the original logo on the down tube, and incorporate that into the finished design.

Hehe... I was expecting to see a bicycle with stained-glass windows mounted to it or something. As a regular church attender, I do think the phrase as explained by others in this post makes sense. Even within our church, we talk about how "the parking lot pavement makes you holy". As soon as someone steps out of their car to go to church, suddenly they become a better person than they were two seconds earlier. Then when church is over and that person leaves, they return to their normal self. That's not how it's supposed to be, but I digress...

Anyway, to the OP.... WOW!!!! I love it!!!

I'm a child of the '80s and I admit that I love neon colors. Hopefully the paints you used have some intense UV filter on them. That's been one of my biggest issues with neon colors is that they usually fade in the sun and lose their original appeal.
