They really were something, I agree completely!

    Glad you saw them live.

I try to show people how good they were and some just don’t get it.

Same with the early band Traffic, Stevie Winwood is mind blowing in this Video.....

Agreed. Been a while since I've I heard that band. Just awesome. Added Dear Mr. Fantasy and Low Spark to my playlist.

Nothing screams "I'm old" more loudly than rhapsodizing about 40-50 year old concerts.

The local "hillbilly" neighbors put up a giant inflatable Santa-and-sleigh thing a couple of years ago. Luckily, there was a big windstorm about 10 days before Christmas. Shreds of Santa in the trees all winter long......

one of my favorite parts of the concert when clapton's strap comes loose and robbie picks up lead guitar and doesn't miss a lick!

I don't know either of those. But maybe if I heard them, I'd recognize them.

A few years ago I was on a flight and a woman was sitting next to me with a baby/toddler. The little girl was about 2. Oh great... a crying baby next to me.
The mom pulls out a travel DVD player and starts it up. Turns out the little girl was a fan of The Band. It was a live concert DVD and she would watch it over and over. That clip might be from the DVD, which made me remember it.
Turned out to be a pretty good flight.

Or maybe just a bit of fun, like having an ugly sweater party. I have fond childhood memories of being driven around to gawk at light displays.

As for the "environmental aspect", anyone on this board complaining about xmas decorations as such is living in a glass house. That bike, helmet, spandex you have certainly wasn't harvested from an organic tree farm. I would argue that the presents bought during the holiday, particularly those destined to be thrown away shortly after Junior tires of them, are a bigger concern than an inflatable Santa on the lawn or a string of LEDs on the roof.

    Lighten up.

And no, my wife and I have no kids, and our decorations consist of 5 red bows that we tie to my front porch.
Not disagreeing with you on a number of points you make here or anything but we're talking about some really great music now. We're over the decorations thing.

Likely the movie/concert “the last waltz” made by Martin Scorsese.
