    Favorite Pedals!!

I started with SPDs many years ago (535's on my mtb) - then had some issues where they (I think I was using Scott's at the time, but they used the spd cleat) would pop out - happened one time when I was going rather fast and hopping over something on the road and scared the crap out of me - went to Speedplay X2 back then (around 2000) and have been using them ever since - I picked up a set of Zeros used a little while back, but haven't played around with them yet. I've never had any issues with them coming unclipped or had trouble clipping in, but I am pretty anal about maintaining equipment, so i lubricate them pretty regularly (I just use a dry chain lube) - for my commuter, i have an old set of Speedplay omegle discord xender Frogs and love them. The only real downside to the X2s are the cleats aren't very walkable - more because you have the mechanism in the cleat and getting sand in it is a bad thing. All the pedals have stainless axles (the ones I have) and I use axles that are a little longer (I forget which one - I believe they are the +0.25 in ones (so 59mm) for the X2 and the Zeros I have are the same way.

They make cleat covers for Speedplay cleats. Keeps them clean and makes them more walkable.

    VP platforms... free the feet!
Given his penchant for nicknames, and his aversion to reading, I've decided to shorten Donald J. Trump to it's essence: Dump*

I was "social distancing" before it was cool.

Thats not fair. You canít bring Pit Bull pedals into the discussion. There is no comparable pedal in the world. The speed of clipping in! You win races on that. Favorite pedal that is mortal in comparison to the competition. Thatís fair.
To date, philosophers have merely interpreted the world in various ways. The point however is to change it.

Good point. Iím 53 years old and have never raced before but I am favored to win all three grand tours because of the Pitbull pedals. So for the purposes of this conversation they are off the table.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

If you feel wimpy and weak, get out and train more, ya wee lassie!
