I don't think I have a frame without dents in it. My newest (and probably last, unless I give in to the urge to buy a recumbent) bike is five years old. If you use them much, they're going to get scratches and dents.
I had an accident with my bike rack yesterday and my bike now has a dent in the top tube. It isnt bad or creased, but it is bugging me. I just dont like to look at it. Makes me wanna buy a new bike.
Now I'm jealous. My DeRosa got a dent in the top tube from the brake caliper the second week I had it. Went down hard on wet pavement. I've covered it up for 25 years with a piece of handlebar tape, an old trick to protect the top tube from the brake caliper in a crash.
My commuter also has ripples toward the top of the fork blades, from a head on crash into a brick wall. Frame builder bent it back out, and I've been riding it with complete confidence for about 20 years.
To OP, just keep the touch up paint handy.
