    hey hey hey hey

What do you yell to people who head out into the flow of bike traffic without looking? I find myself yelling to people almost every weekend to watch out. They pull off to the side, or are resting there then just start riding without checking to see if anyone (me) is coming barreling up the path. I usually do a repetitive "hey hey hey hey" for some reason. I've tried "bike coming through" and it just didn't feel right. I almost t-boned a little kid that decided to jump out in front of me today. Scareh stuffs. I'm thinking of attaching an air horn to my bars.

"ON YOUR LEFT" for me, but maybe I should change it up a bit.

ok yeah I used to do that but Ive found that it wasn't always pertinent. People are all over the road/path whateverz. Sometimes I'd yell that and they'd move to the left more. Maybe I should try not to cause them to panic so much as to forget left and right lol

"Hey" usually works. Was this on a MUP? I use one to get to the start of most of my rides, and return on the same after. But I use the MUP as warm up/cool down and keep my speed down to where I can panic stop if needed.

i stopped saying anything...i found its better that way. However, when kids are around I usually slow down, i dont like it, but kids are delicate and i dont want to seriously hurt one. I'm indifferent about hitting adults!

And for the roecord I do slow down quite a bit when I see someone up ahead, but no matter what I do it seems people come up with all kinds of crazy effed up ways to try and make me crash into them.

It actually works quite nicely. I have an unknown Japanese origin one on my road bike, and a really nice loud Bosch from a 1987 Volvo on my mountain bike.
