Thumbs up The Limited Edition Bike Thread a.k.a. Premium bike pr0n

Yes, we all love our bikes, but there are especially a select few to which we drool over. Be it awesome paint jobs or just the decal saying it is a limited ed bike, these bikes are manufactured in such little quantities that finding them on eBay or the classifieds is like finding a piece of bike history.

Since I'm a relative noob to this hobby and a 'dale fan, I'll start.

86-89' Black Lightning (what it was back then)

02' Cannondale 30th Anniv Limited Ed. Black Lightning

05' Cannondale Battaglia Italiana. Only 20 created. Dig the customized Mavic ES spokes. Red, white and green!

Going italian, the one that really killed me with the superkalifrajilistic paint job was the colnago LDV

That's that so far. Feel free to post what you have

I've still got a La Vie Claire jersey from that era... still wear it too.

Specifically designed for sado-masochists who like to ride.

The most limited of all possible editions...

If this one only makes you drool, then you are not a very emotional person:

My limited edition frame is a Serotta Atlanta Concept built (David Kirk says probably by him) for use by the Ukrainian National Team in the 1995 Tour duPont. Vitaly Verevko rode it. It's fourth in the series, but I don't know how many there were. This frame was a predecessor to the Atlanta model that came out in 1996, when the Summer Olympics were in Georgia. I've since ruined it by having it powdercoated.

I'd paint the white with spikes black to cary off a Goth theme
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Timothy 1:15)

You can't spell Christmas, without Christ...

I don't think this Time RXR frame is a limited edition, but at $7,500 it is certainly limited by the size of your wallet.

I built up a Spicer Cycles frame that I got very cheap just as pictured on the link below with a Winwood Enthusiast fork, Chris King headset, Cinelli Alter stem, and some ITM bars (not pictured on the website but on the bike now). When I got the frameset its picture wasn't on the website. It just recently was updated as their example frame for a custom compact aluminum frame.

    http://www.spicercycles.com/index.cg...&cat_desc=Road

Since this picture, I put the Cinelli stem on the Dream and switched the black crankset out to an standard Ultegra one. She's about to be on the market if anyone is interested.

This is the most recent for me...

    Masi 3V Olympic???

I just saw this one on Ebay the other day, and since my first real road bike was a Masi that was too big for me, I really freaked out.

    It's beautiful...

Boom! I believe the one depicted in the photo is a replica. A good friend of mine had an '84 Gios Torino in the Gios blue and white color scheme built up with Super Record. The classic Gios Torino was one of the most gorgeous bikes ever made.

If it's mass produced, like a Trek or Cannondale, only the price makes it premium. If you want true premium, you must go to a boutique builder like Richard Sachs and get a custom lugged steel something or other. Classic Italian lugged steel works too.

I'm sticking my tounge out at LenJ and his lovely collection of frames. Bastard.
