    Need help with sizing--dare I get away from Trek??

    Like thousands of others, I ride a Trek 5200. Got it in 2002. I love the bike and it fits me well. But I am ready to buy a 2nd bike. IMHO, the OCLV does seem to have become "softer" over the years.

    Riding a 50cm Trek (center to top). Currently looking at a 49cm Italian bike, center to center. Do you think the 49cm would fit?

    Trek 50cm (c to t)
    TT=52.5
    Seat ang=75.0

    Italian 49cm (c to c)
    TT=52
    Seat ang=74.3

    I have been professionally fit twice, so I know the drill about swapping around stems, seatposts and bars. I read the post the other day about caluculating EFF TT length with differing ST angles. So am looking for RBR opinions as to frame fit.

    (BTW posted something similar about my decision the other day, but posted some incorrect info, so reposting today.) TIA

    Gimmie a break.Mine's a 98 and has been ridden long and hard with no issues.Just call it bike lust and move on,without planting the seeds of more folklore.

    And nothing has gone soft on my '98 OCLV except the rider.
    It's pretty tricky to fit someone to a bike over the net, especially with little to no info.
    BTW your 50cm OCLV is 47cm c-c. That's about as small as you can build a bike with 700mm wheels.
