Wasn't this done already??? Did Trek license someone else's product and claim it as their own?

More than likely a partnership with the creator of the technology.

It is so disingenuous to make the varied statistical and subjective claims such as 48 times more effective at preventing concussions. There is no way they can back that up as a fact. And IMO even if it were true it is physically and medically impossible to prove it.

if that were true, shouldn't Trek be marking down the price on all their old technology helmets?

I'll wait to hear the reviews - how well it cools is important too, and it's about 70 grams heavier which is quite a bit to me on an all day ride.

70g is about 2.47oz. which is about 0.15lbs. Do you really think you will feel this?

On my head all day? Also is equal to 21% heavier than my current helmet, and 1/3 again as heavy as a light helmet - yeah, I would notice that I think. I can tell the difference between my light and my heavier helmet which is about the the same difference in weight. Plus there's the cooling factor I'd like to hear more on as well.

Yes, and that's also about $1.50 more per gram for the helmet too!

just got a chance to try out the new trek bontrager xxx helmet. A few observations:
    1. in size small, it's listed as 325g. On my head, it does feel heavier than my other helmets.
    2. it uses Boa fitting system, which is pretty nice. But to be honest, the old Ballistic helmet fits my head's shape better in that it feels more comfortable when braced down.
    3. it has more vents than the Ballista, also the tail is shorter than the Ballista

Overall conclusion is, I'm not to just ditch my Ballista and go get the new helmet, no way. But if I were in the market for a new helmet, then I'd get the Wavcel one simple for the better protection factor, why not.

    It's war!

and now MIPS is fighting back by disputing Bontrager’s claims with its own testing.
