Smile Pinarello dogma 65.1 f8 think 2 team sky replica 2016

Hi all, can anyone enlighten me on what "replica" on this pinarello exactly mean please?

I'm looking to get my first pina, and saw "replica" concerned on a knock off or not?

    Thank you,

    any input is greatly appreciated!

"Replica" usually suggests that it's made to look like a team issue bike. I doubt any knockoff or counterfeit would use this word in the description.

'Team Sky Replica' should be a clue.

i did some research and found that the 65.1 sky team replica is what Novarider identified as it being it is similar to the racing bikes used. Thank you for your input!

Where are you looking to buy it from? There are reasons to be concerned with buying a 'knock off' but the word replica is not one of them.

If it don't say ''Pinarello" on the tube, I would pass.

Pinarello dogma 65.1 f8 think 2 team sky replica 2016

yes got that, However, 3 things when i went to see the bike.
    1. As I got out of my car, the guy had it out and I looked over, and almost automatically, didn't look like a Pina. It just didn't feel right at a glance. 2. i did some more research, on how to spot a fake Pinarello, and my research went well, i am glad i did it, because, the other thing i noticed was that all the decals on the bike were peeling off, so that didn't sit well with me in addition to some of the things mentioned on "How to Spot a Fake Pina", as I looked for these non authentic details, i came across 3 of them, plus the internet, had pictures of which is a real vs fake....so that really helped a lot! 3. when I rode it, it felt like one of my kids bikes that i had bought for them from Target, just didn't feel right...oh and another thing, this guy kept talking and talking, and trying to show me how many rides and distances he has done, maybe to distract me from really checking out the bike.....I decided not to bite, and I am so glad I didn't, because driving away I felt really good about not buying it. He asked why I didn't want to take it right there and then, my reply was that, I don't jump into the first thing I see so that kept him quiet, and told him i was looking at a couple more bikes today. Afterwards, i did go to my Local Pro Bike shop and told the tech there the scenario, and he said that bikes do have decals, but they are flushed into the paint job. So that made me feel even better. well after the our conversation, i actually ended up buying a bike from there. I know I am getting the real deal, and he gave me a really cool discount, so as to it being that i shared my story with him, or he just felt empathy for me, either way I ended up winning! Thanks all for the Input! have a great day!

I may be wrong (why do I always feel I have to say that?), but IMO, not many 'good bikes' from major manuf use decals, their name is embeded in the CF, for sure under the factory clear coat if there is one.

No, they're not 'embedded' in the carbon, they're either painted or decals and then cleared over. There is no way to 'embed' a logo into carbon other than laser etching and that would be easy to recognize.

Always best to be a bit skeptical in that type of scenario
