    Problems Uploading to Strava

I use a Cateye Padrone Smart device and the Cateye IOS cycling app to upload my workouts to Strava.

Recently, the upload process fails and my understanding is there have been other upload problems since an upgrade to the Strava upload interface.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

A friend of mine uses an Amazon Fire phone and an app called BikeComputerPro. He somehow uploads to Strava from that app.

He uses that app because his phone cannot work with the Strava app; something to do with Google compatibility, I think.

Anyway, it worked fine for him up until the beginning of 2019. Now it won't work. I tried helping him, and he's contacted the creator of the BikeComputerPro app. Neither of us have been successful.

I'd love to see a solution to his problem, and hear of yours as well.

Only current workaround, export workout to a .fit or .gxp file, then manually upload to strava. .fit file will include heartrate info, .gxp will not.

I think Strava changed something, my upload system was not changed for my cateye since I installed it several years ago.

How do you export a workout to a .fit or .gxp file?

I have the same problem and I still couldn't fix it. I also tried to log in from BikeComputerPro and this didn't help either. So can anybody help me with this?

In CateyeSync on the desktop, there is a button, bottom right after loading your ride.

The OP uses a phone, I didn't notice this, this bug includes standard cateye unit and my solution works for it. I didn't know there was a cateye app.

My friend gave me an update: The creator of BikeComputerPro has acknowledged Strava changed something in their software. He's working on a solution.

Cateye got back to me last week with the following, "We apologize for the confusion. There is a stability issue that currently is affecting data upload from the iOS app version. Japan has informed us that an update should be released in less than seven days."

Seems Strava changed something about their import interface (maybe they rewrote how XML is handled) and there are lots of incompatibilities with third-party measurements.

Fwiw, just tried the upload and this time it went through, finally. Have to assume that Cateye finally corrected the interface problems with Strava. Good luck everyone.
