    Question about smart trainer setup

Just got a Tacx Neo 2T and it was easy enough to set up and pair. My Garmin 530 recognized it and suggested that I add. Speed/cadence show up fine but no power. I see a trainer icon at the top of the Garmin screen.

Do I need to add the trainer as a power meter? Should I not even bother since the Tacx Training app overlay on my TV will show performance metrics?

That is what I did with my wahoo kickr. I added the trainer as a power meter within Zwift

I got it set up and tried a ride. The Tacx Training app is really cool. Rides from all over the world on the TV
