Retro Bobke on his De Rosa (picture)

Here's Bobke decked out with his Oakley's and beard at the recent Boure Bike Fest Week in Durango. I think those are 7-Eleven shorts (real ones from his time on the team) as well. It looks like his vintage De Rosa is in excellent shape. Clipless pedals, not toe clips.

Looks like a super record group, so I would guess friction. Could be the Simplex Retrofriction though too as many used them then.

    The jersey

I agree...very cool. I'll bet its' a jersey from Bobke's stash that hasn't seen the light of day in a decade.

i've got pics of part of bobke's fleet in a mtb mag...
there's a derosa repainted by cycleart in a georgia o keefe lizard motif built w/ 25th anniv. record. the story behind the bike: lots of huffys of the 7/11 squad were breaking on the european circuit. top tubes, down tubes... total massacre. bobke rushed to derosa who measured him up, built the bike and had it painted in the team's color. special geometry for stage racing: low BB, long wheelbase, laidback angles. it didn't brake.

    Those "Huffy's" were re-badged Serottas

I never heard that they were breaking them other than from major crashes, but who knows? Personally, I'd rather have a lugged De Rosa than a lugged Serotta.

Joker was a Belgian based team of the early - mid- 80's

Belgian state lottery - later renamed - LOTTO - how's that for original?

Haven't seen one of those jerseys in a long time.

    Bobke a Speedplay man ??

Can't tell for sure, but there doesn't appear to be "much" pedal on the crankarm ends.
