Strip my white Scapin down to raw steel? Opinion

    Link to album below

What do you folks think? Will it be a butcher job or a unique winter project?

I would strip the seat topper and stem, also I'd replace/strip the fork to make it match the 3K finish of the tubing

I would polish it as nicely as possible before clearcoating it

wold you remove replace the scapin downtube decals?

Well, go ahead, customize the frame to your satisfaction. But the bike carrying the Scapin reputation would be more valuable restored to its former glory. The paint looks great, decals still intact. Take some auto detailer and shine it up. It has at least one coat of clear coat over the decals. It'll look like new. Ride it true to the builder's intentions, IMO. You can't "screw it up."

If it were a lesser bike such as Trek, Specialized, or Giant, sure, have fun with it.

To date, philosophers have merely interpreted the world in various ways. The point however is to change it.
