Not I for sure. But I guess those people wouldn't blink an eye about spending $400 on a toaster.

I would spend $0 on a set of golf clubs since I don't play golf.

That everesting record was on a half mile hill, not exactly taxing on brakes. Now if he had done it in the rain... like all those other people that ride 7 hours in the rain for no reason.

I actually just got a new toaster, after discovering that my countertop was being flooded with olive oil.
Decided to go back to a toaster oven as the oil must have been heating up and draining out off the vertically installed bread while toasting.
The toaster oven settings are still under development, I just started experimenting with the broiler setting which appears to be just the thing for heating bolillos.
I went with the black & decker, the first item to be revised was the heat markings on the timer. That seems to be resolved as it was extremely difficult to fine tune the dial to the proper setting for the bread to be heated.

Were you putting olive oil on your bread and then toasting it?

If you want to do so, then you'll need a toaster oven. Most manufacturers of toasters, even commercial models, say "pre-buttering (or oiling)" is a no-no, for the reason you said.

I've only ever had one toaster oven (I suspect one gets the "toasting system" one grew up on, based on my absolutely unscientific study of the topic).

    Imagine that.
You might want to read up on instructions before trying French Toast.

No I mean anyone who drowns their toaster in olive oil could probably use a bit of guidance before trying to make French toast.

    Giving you instructions?

The fact that they wrote instruction manuals suggests they were figuring on women reading them, no?

Wow I just watched Phil Gaimon's interview with Ronan McLaughlin and it turns out he DID ride 2 hours of it in the rain, with carbon rims and carbon pads. I am very impressed.

I’m sure there’s a thread on a toaster forum where they’re bashing people for spending $12,000 on a bike.

...using whatever brand has been imprinted on your forehead by said skillet, after your partner reads your comment.

    It's probably been asked here.

    https://forum.breadtopia.com/t/toast...top-ovens/5739

That is the correct subforum for this thread
