    Trimming with 105 (ST560x - Compact)

Can someone explain trimming with 105 to me? When I'm in the big chainring and press the b lever, there is no click until it's pressed all the way at which point it shifts to the small chainring. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you!

If you shift from the small to the large ring by pressing the "A" lever all the way, then you should be able to press the "B" lever until you feel a definite "click" and that should be the trim position. If you get the click and the chain shifts to the smaller chainring, it is probably not adjusted correctly (this situation is described in the Shimano instructions, where they say to loosen the "top" adjustment screw about 1/8 turn).

Thank you! It works but not every time. The click isn't always there. I get the click when I switch to the large chainring while I'm close to the biggest cog in the rear. I didn't think it was smart enough to detect when the chainline isn't straight or is it?
