    Tube deals these days . . .

Where on teh inter webs can I find a good deal on 700 x 23 presta tubes with 48mm stems these days?

I've had great success with Specialized, but there're probably all from teh same Chinese factory as the rest and probably just odd luck also.

    Thanks

Take a look at Excel Sports. They usually have great deals. Not sure about the 48mm, looks like some in 42 or 60mm.

Thanks. I scoped the 48's and for 3 tubes ($4.00 each) and $9.00 shipping is about the same as a LBS with tax. I guess that's why I just do LBS. I think I fergot this fact. Unless I buy mass quantities I suppose. . . . .

^^ This... I also buy the ones with a removable valve core as to accommodate my 50mm rims and valve extenders.

I guess I could just buy the equaled length need to clear the depth of the rims, but I don't like the look of the silver stem against the mate black rims.. just say-n

If you;re looking to save money on tubes buying a patch kit will probably save you more than buying bargain tubes.

Best deal on tubes is not using them

Vitoria Latex and Conti Race is what I used in the one bike I still have that isn't tubeless. Of course the Race tubes are less expensive and are often on sale, also very reliable.

I usually buy a bunch of tubes from one of the UK places. I buy 15-20 of them at a time. They have Conti (made in Germany) or Michelin (made in France). I have bought some Conti tubes from Excel when they have deals on 10 packs. Easily half the price of the LBS. Excel often has good deals on Vittoria tires too. There's no reason to putz around buying a couple at a time. They store for years if you keep them in a dark cool place like your basement.

Amen.....I'm so glad I bought a box of 100 Rema Tip Top patches. I've got some tubes with 5 patches.
I'm having a hard time finding Michelin tubes with the smooth valve stem, at a reasonable price. (I need those because of my Silca track pump).Patch away.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

+1 The Specialized Turbo tubes I use have a smooth valve stem.
