    Weak bolts...

Geez... this has happened before, this is just kind of a rant.

I just got some DMT shoes a couple weeks ago. They're great, they fit me very well.

However... they can't use the bolts that came with the cleats, the shoes themselves came with bolts.

They're freakin soft aluminum and I can't get them tight enough to keep the cleats slipping and they are already stripping.

It's so stupid... is this over weight? I'd much rather have an extra 2g of weight on the shoes and not have to worry about stripping the bolts and having to use the dremel tool to change the cleats later on.

(Just had to dremel the bolts off my MTB shoes the other night)

Off to the hardware store to try and find some real bolts at lunch.

    Be careful

The female fastener in the shoe may be aluminium also. If so, be careful about over tightening or you will strip the shoe. I would use neverseize. Aluminium has a tendancy to gall and strip under pressure.
