Wheel doesn't move when I pedal

OK, sometimes when I'm bored, and I'm bored a lot lately, I venture over to another discussion forum. And this was the at the top of General Discussion. I hovered on the thread title, and I did see the word Walmart in the first sentence of the body, although I didn't venture in. I realize they are bike forum, not a road bike forum, not an MTBR forum, and not even a gravel forum, but geez. It's like "This lamp doesn't work". It's not plugged in.

Please don't slam me for posting this in the wrong forum.

I see that BikeForums hasn't changed much. This post was an obvious troll, yet the moderators will ban ANYBODY who says so, claiming that it scares newbies away. And so, this is what they are left with....

That forum sucks. Went over there for a while and it was ridiculous. Pretty much as you say.

”the chain (I think that’s what it’s called?)”

There’s usually a “tell” in a troll post. Guy seems to have no trouble with the English language in the OP but isn’t sure what a chain is called...

Lately, there has been a series of posts over at Jalopnik where one of their (automotive) commentators has bought himself a p.o.s. "Mississippi" Schwinn of about 35 years ago (paying far too much for it), and is trying to 'convert' it into a 'modern' singletrack bike, with laughable results. Just this week, he did his first jump, and broke the frame! He's obviously talking with the armchair "mechanics" over at BikeForums, and he seems to be on the verge of spending $150 at a frame builder to repair the frame on his $50 bike. Right now, he has something like $400 sunk into it, and it's still sporting cheap Chinese platform pedals!

I haven't been over there since I got fed up with how crazy it was and came over here to the paragon of sane cyclists saying sane things most of the time, RBR.

Oh no. This thread was started two days ago and now has 71 responses. But it has now dropped down the 8th or so most recent thread.

I recall expressing my own strong opinions about this extremely controversial topic in that thread.

Anybody here remember the guy who was famous for telling everybody how he was always SLAMDANCIN INTO CURVES!! (in all caps of course)?

How about the ridiculous sock that called itself hannahmontana?

RBR: “They’re so stupid at Bikeforums - dozens of posts about any brainless thing at all.”

Bikeforums: “Nobody posts at RBR except the same few curmudgeons.”
