    Yeah, I think manufacturers’ estimates are often lighter than reality and many publications just parrot what the manufacturers say. Stock wheels and lower spec’d drivetrains are definitely two of the biggest culprits when it comes to heavy bikes. That being said, I found the Ibis Hakka MX and new SWorks Crux to be surprisingly light framesets. The Diverge and Revolt were a little bulkier in my opinion, but not horrible by any stretch.

    My gravel bike project is in queue but not as big a priority right now. It’s definitely behind my new track bike project I am currently working on. I want to get track fit and ready before the local velodrome opens for racing in the spring. I am also mesmerized by off-road enduro dirt bikes at the moment and I am seriously considering getting one. I am kind of blown away that off-road motorcycles basically cost the same amount as road bicycles actually. That’s a conversation for another time though.
