    [Photos] Downtown LA Cathedral

I had to drop off some proposals across the street so I parked at the cathedral. Afterwards I figured I might as well walk around and see if anything caught my eye. What a cool church! This is probably no surprise to most people, but I had never been inside before. I'm itching to go back and work on capturing some scenes that didn't quite work out the way that I wanted. Namely, the organ. That thing is solid burl walnut and absolutely beautiful.

All photos taken with Olympus XA on Fuji Superia 200.

we did a Lounge gathering ride DTLA (3!!!) years ago that included a stop at the cathedral. (you weren't invited. HTH)

Pretty nice spot. The frosted glass over the 101 is a fav.

Joe Daddio kicks it off with some hot chica action:

Lovely pictures of the most majestic, thrillingly beautiful building in Los Angeles, perhaps in the entire Western United States. A gloriously sited, elegant, yet welcoming, embracing vision of all that is right with the universe. A poem in stone.
Mapie is a conventional looking former Hollywood bon viveur, now leading a quiet life in a house made of wood by an isolated beach. He has cultivated a taste for culture, and is a celebrated raconteur amongst his local associates, who are artists, actors, and other leftfield/eccentric types. I imagine he has a telescope, and an unusual sculpture outside his front door. He is also a beach comber. The Rydster.

I'm in Orange County (live in Costa Mesa, work in Irivine). But my work takes me to LA on a regular basis and when I have some free time I like to wander around like an open-mouthed tourist gawking at the big city.
