I've got a pair of Speedos, but they're 'regular' cut swim trunks, aka boxer cut. They have a fairly big Speedo label on them, they are actually nice, fit me well, and they have a secure pocket. Once a year or so I get to say "I'm going to put on my Speedos" and I can sense some dread....

My favorite pair is retired for the season and won't return until my first Brazilian wax appointment.

My dad sent me a bright green Speedo for xmas last year. It was a gag gift after I failed to find a pair of board shorts I liked when he and I were in Hawaii together.

I wore them in my hot tub once and have to admit, I felt really sexy.

The hot tub however, left this mortal plane 3 months later, leaving only this message.

Yes. Much more efficient and comfortable in the water than any baggier style. For one, they don't stick to your thighs, binding your legs. Think of it like using bicycle shorts when you ride.
Mapie is a conventional looking former Hollywood bon viveur, now leading a quiet life in a house made of wood by an isolated beach. He has cultivated a taste for culture, and is a celebrated raconteur amongst his local associates, who are artists, actors, and other leftfield/eccentric types. I imagine he has a telescope, and an unusual sculpture outside his front door. He is also a beach comber. The Rydster.
